Easter Greetings from Juneau!
Although I will be spending Easter Sunday in Alaska’s capital city, my heart is home in the YK Delta. Since I cannot see many of you this weekend, I’d like to send the warmest holiday wishes your way.
It has been a busy week! I had several constituent meetings and heard many committee presentations on issues related to education, energy, telehealth, and rural transportation. I chaired my first meeting of the Community & Regional Affairs Committee. We also continue work to pass the Operating Budget, which will fund programs critical to the health and welfare of our communities.
Will you be traveling to Juneau soon and would like to request a meeting?
If so, please call my office at (907) 465-4942. You can also e-mail me at [email protected]. Can’t make it to Juneau? No problem. My team is available to take your call or answer any questions on any State-related issues that you may have.
A reminder about upcoming important dates and deadlines:
Walk-in PFD Application, March 30
Online PFD Application, March 31 at 11:59 p.m.
IRS Tax Filing Deadline, April 17
Finally, safe travels for anyone who may be planning to go to a nearby community to spend time with friends and family on this holiday weekend or the upcoming Orthodox holiday. A friendly reminder that Bethel Search and Rescue and KYUK offer great updates on river travel conditions!
It was a fun surprise to see Ivan Ivan and Willie Kasayulie just before floor session during their visit to Juneau this week.
I was honored to join Second Lady Toni Mallott (left) and First Lady Donna Walker (right) at the Governor’s House for a reception honoring Alaska’s women in leadership.
Meeting Notice: Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
Many constituents in the district have asked how to participate in the upcoming Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board meeting. The next meeting will be held in Nome at the Aurora Inn on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The public call-in number for the meeting is 1-800-315-6338, code 69173#. The meeting is open to the public to attend at any time.

In the meantime, DOT has created an email address for anyone in the state to report potholes. Emails can be sent to: [email protected]
