Dennis Billy Westlock Dec. 29, 1994 – June 13, 2018

Dennis Billy Westlock was born on December 29, 1994 to Martha and the late Patrick Kelly Sr. in Bethel, Alaska. He became the baby boy of John Sr. and Annie Westlock. He made both sides of his families very happy. Thank you Jesus for giving him to us.
He attended Emmonak School and graduated May 2013. After high school his main occupation was a processor on F/V Golden Alaska and Seafreeze Alaska where he completed 4 seasons. He also worked for Kwigpak Fisheries during the summer months.
During his off-season Dennis would live a subsistence way of lifestyle which he enjoyed hunting, gathering berries, trapping, logging and fishing. He made memorable-bonding trips with his family and friends along the Yukon River and the Bering Sea.
Dennis loved to play basketball and was on the Emmonak Bad Boys team. Dennis also was expert at fixing bikes and snow machines. He had a strong bond with his parents; John and Annie, his sisters who help raise him up; Paula and Bungie, and his brother, John Jr. He also made countless memories with his cousin/friend whom he grew up with since infancy; Brandon Johnson-Edwards. He was also close to his cousins Chuck and Richard (deceased) Andrews, Archie Andrews and Randall Agathluk Jr.
Dennis met the love of his life, Christy George and relocated to Mtn. Village. Dennis was very excited to become a daddy to his beautiful daughter, Zoey Westlock who was born on July 30th, 2017.
Dennis is survived by his daughter, Zoey Westlock, girlfriend, Christy George, parents, John & Annie, siblings, Patricia (David), Jennifer (Robert), John Jr. (Sylvia), Paula, Bungie (Paul), Grace, and Tammy (Keith). He is also survived by his extended families; Frannie, Gordon, Howie, Albert, Maggie, Darlene, Thomas, Elmer, Milton, Hilma, Sarah, and Richie. He also leaves his biological mother, Martha Kelly, sister, Yvonne, and brothers’ Patrick Jr. and Evan along with many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by his son Tyrone John, his siblings Johanna, his biological dad Patrick Sr.; Louie, Ronald, Willie, and Lorencia Kelly. His paternal grandparents: Billy & Lucille Westlock, Anthony & Bridget Kelly, and maternal grandparents Mary & John Cheemuk Sr. of St. Michael. Uncles Andrew Sr., John Kelly, Alex Kozevenikoff Sr., Harold & John Cheemuk Jr., Aunts Alice Immamak, Ursula Kozevenikoff and Alberta Steve, along with his cousins; Andrew Kelly Jr., Jascenda Kelly, Marcia & Oscar Leopold Jr. Johnny Prince and Audi Steve.
We, the whole family was very grateful for Bishop Chad Zielinski to be with us during the funeral service for Dennis. Thank you goes out to the following: Daren Jennings, Tami Jo Prince, Sharon Keezer, Maggie Westlock-Harpak, Emmonak, Bethel, Alakanuk and Mtn. Village Search & Rescue, Alaska State Troopers, YDFDA, Kwigpak Fisheries, City of Emmonak, Alaska Commercial Company, Emmonak Corporation, City of St. Michael, Native Village of St. Michael, Singers; Darlene Johnson-Edwards, Darlene Westlock, Yolanda Kelly, Lynn Hootch and Jake Redfox, countless searchers, singers, food preparers, and prayers. To those that came from near and far to comfort us during our time of sorrow.
Also quyana to the people in the surrounding villages for sending us such a lovely bereavement card and sympathy message. Through the outpouring of love you’ve given all of us the strength and courage to face the difficult days ahead. Thank you for being here for us in our time of grief.
We also greatly appreciate the weeks’ worth of home cooked meals you brought over. Thank you for providing us with wise spiritual counsel. It brought us a sense of comfort and peace during this very difficult period of bereavement. Your loving presence during our time of need helped us to bridge feelings of loss and bereavement to those of understanding and acceptance. I remember God’s promise of everlasting life beyond this world. Please keep my family in your daily prayers. We, the family will also keep you all in our prayers.
