When we were kids going to Sunday school at the Moravian Church in Bethel, every December we went in front of the church congregation and recited out loud the verses in the Holy word of God, the King James version of the bible, the story of Baby Jesus in the manger.
Our Sunday school class of about a dozen kids memorized a bible verse to share the story of the Baby Jesus in Bethlehem born to the virgin Mary.
When church service started our Sunday school class of about 15 kids were lined up in front of the church congregation. We recited our bible verse that we memorized one week prior to Christmas. We were no older than 10 years old. We were nervous and some forgot their bible verse and our Sunday school teacher Gladys Fancher would help us.
After the Sunday church service every member of the congregation would get a small paper bag of candy to take home, an apple or orange was always included.
We all know Baby Jesus is no longer a baby, but rules as one with his heavenly Father God almighty in heaven.
Each one of us will be judged at the end of our lives when we go to the spirit world. Our judgment will not be what we know about the holy scriptures but how we lived our lives during our short time on earth and if we were born again of the water and the spirit.
I am reminded of the Abraham George story of his visit to heaven and hell after he died in an accident. His incredible story about judgment can be read in his life and death experience.
Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth chose the beauty of heaven and the horror of hell. We will all be judged after we take our last breath by our Lord and savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth on the lives we lived, because he alone has a full account of how we spent our life on earth! May joy and happiness be yours this Christmas.
