BRHS Lady Warriors undefeated at Tok Volleyball Tourney

The Bethel Lady Warriors volleyball team had a great weekend of games at the Tok Volleyball Tournament. On Friday they played four games. They defeated the Galena Hawks 25-8 both games, Nenana also fell 25-12 and 25-15. The Glenallen Panthers also lost to the Warriors 25-13 and 25-14. The host team of Tok also lost, 25-13 both games.

On Saturday, the Lady Warriors did not let up. They continued their winning spree for all three of their games for a 7-0 record. Their first game was with the host team Tok, 25-9 and 25-7. Next they beat Glenallen 25-7 and 25-16. The championship game was with Glenallen, Bethel won 25-8 and 25-18.

Bethel volleyball star and senior Ava Lieb was recognized by MaxPreps/AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) as State Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of September 13 – September 19, 2021 for Alaska. Among all of her stats, she was tied for 8th in the entire United States for having 15 Aces (untouched serves, or an opponent couldn’t keep it in play). In 10 Sets Played she posted 47 assists, 4.7 assists/game, 0.336 team hitting %, 3 digs, 0.3 digs/game, 15 aces, and 3 blocks. Congratulations!
