Body found by SAR group

Alaska State Troopers received a report that a body had been discovered near a snowmachine by Bethel Search and Rescue just South of Bethel on March 3, 2021, at approximately 1320 hours. The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Kasigluk resident Minnie Kalila. The Bethel region has received significant snowfall, high winds, and frigid temperatures making travel difficult this week. The state medical examiner will be performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected at this time. Next of kin have been notified. Condolences to her family.
