The Table of Grace Lutheran Church in Bethel hosted the Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022 at the Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center. Folks were invited to bring their pets to be blessed by Vicar Zach Manzella. Over 30 pets were blessed and prayed for. Bethel Friends of Canines were also administering free vaccinations and signing dogs up for spaying and neutering. Quyana!
Blessing of the Animals
Creator God, you created animals for us to love and care for. Thank you for the joy they bring into our lives, and for the companionship they provide. Keep all of our pets safe and protected from harm. Give them nourishment and strength to continue to live well in this world and in our homes. Through our attachment with them, give us a glimpse of the bond you have with each of us. Bless the animals in our care as they eat and sleep, move and lay, play and interact with us. Let us rejoice in you through them. Amen.
