D.O.G., a St. Bernard, is this year’s Best in Show winner at the 2019 Bethel Dog Show. D.O.G. works as a search and rescue dog and is owned and trained by Jim Pete. D.O.G. won a gift basket full of doggie goodies.
The dog show featured over 20 dogs last Sunday at the Bethel Cultural Center. Canines of all sizes and shapes, breeds and colors, entertained the crowd with their tricks, obedience, agility, vocals, and fun costumes.
The crowd with fans of all ages cheered for the dogs as they paraded and trotted to win trophies and ribbons.
The judges for the show had a tough time choosing winners, but they got the job done. Volunteering to judge were Danny Nelson, Kristi Shallenberger, Theresa Quiner, and Matthew Morgan.
The emcee for the event was Lillie Reder.
The cultural center’s great room was divided into two with one side reserved for the dogs and their owners who waited for their turn. The dogs had a great time socializing and getting to know their competitors while waiting for their turns.
Bethel Friends of Canines rescue dogs wore a bowtie. One, a puppy named Bear, won the Most Adorable award.
