Bethel wrestlers compete at Top Dog Invite in Nikiski

The Bethel Warrior boys wrestlers traveled to Nikiski to compete in the Top Dog Wrestling Invite last Friday and Saturday. The Warriors came home with gold and placed 5th overall in a field of sixteen. Taking home medals from the podium were Landon Smith (119) and Joseph Smith (130) for gold, and Liam Phelan (103) and Paul Dyment (125). Aaron Mute (130) took bronze.

Also wrestling were Alvino Vasquez (112), Shawn McIntyre (135), Jordan Leinberger (152), Ellis Johnson (160), Mason Fitka (171), and Cyrus Anaruk (171).

The tournament combined boys and girls scores for the final team scores. The Lady Warrior wrestlers, in the meanwhile, were grappling at the Monster Bash at South Anchorage high school.

Up next is the ACS Invitational next weekend.
