Hayden Lieb and Thomas Dyment competed in the 2017 US Marines Cadet & Junior Freestyle/Greco Roman National Championships held at the FargoDome in Fargo, ND this past July.
“This was the first time for both wrestlers to compete at this National tournament. There were 101 wrestlers in Hayden’s bracket and he made it to the round of 16 before losing twice, just two matches away from placing. There were 77 wrestlers in Thomas’s Freestyle bracket,” wrote Coach Darren Lieb.

Lieb found out that he separated his pectoral (chest) muscles from his sternum during his last Freestyle match and wasn’t cleared to compete in Greco. Dyment was 2 matches away from placing out of 47 wrestlers in this bracket. He lost his first match then won his next 3 before losing his last match.
