Twenty-nine folks showed up in Bethel to support the fight against breast cancer sponsored by the Alaska Run for Women under the Delta Divas on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. Runners ran over a mile in Bethel, many were dressed in pink. Runners also included breast cancer survivors and their supporters.

A simultaneous event also was taking place in Anchorage. Several Delta Divas from Bethel participated in the Anchorage event, which is an all-women event.

The race raises funds for awareness of breast cancer and womens’ health and to provide grants to organizations concerned with breast cancer research, education, outreach, prevention and early detection.

One of the grantees is the Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska who provides funding for mobile mammography services, focusing on underserved populations of women, primary in rural Alaska and at a fixed-site in Fairbanks.

The program travels to remote Alaska communities, providing quality services regardless of ability to pay. Thank you for all your work.

Folks can make donations under the Delta Divas at the Alaska Run for Women webpage.
