The Bethel Warriors and Lady Warriors varsity ball teams traveled to the Homer Sons of the American Legion Winter Carnival Basketball Tournament this past weekend. Teams from Houston, Kotzebue, Bethel, and the host team Homer participated in the event. The Lady Warriors were awarded first place at the tournament.
On Thursday, February 9th, the Lady Warriors proclaimed victory over the Houston Lady Hawks 54-53. On Friday the Lady Warriors played the host team the Homer Lady Mariners and defeated them 38-23. Their final game was with the Kotzebue Lady Huskies, the Huskies won this match 60-39.
The Bethel Warriors varsity team played the Houston Hawks on Thursday, February 9th, 2023. They lost to the Hawks 72-42. On Friday, they won their game against the Homer Mariners, 53-37. On Saturday, the Warriors played their 3A conference counterparts from Kotzebue. They lost 62-52.
Back at the WarriorDome, the Bethel JV teams were joined by boys and girls varsity teams from Akiak and Kalskag for a weekend of fun games.
