Bethel Lady Warriors play at State 3A Volleyball Finals

The Bethel Lady Warriors fought a valiant fight but fell to the Seward Lady Seahawks during the opening round of the 3A Volleyball State Championships in Anchorage on November 11th, 2021. Bethel fans were there to support and cheer for their players at the Alaska Airlines Center. Seward won all three of the matches, scores were 25-13, 25-17, and 25-19. Lady Warrior Ava Lieb was named as Player of the Game.

On Friday, November 12th, the Lady Warriors played against the Homer Mariners. The Mariners won all three sets: 25-13, 25-11, and a very close last set 26-24. Kate Smith was awarded the Player of the Game.

The Valdez Lady Buccaneers won first place, defeating Homer, Seward, and Kenai to win the tournament. Kenai was second and Homer took third.

This is the first trip to the state tournament in fourteen years for the Lady Warriors. Back in 2007, Bethel won the 123A (West) Volleyball state championship. Runner up was the Barrow Whalers.
