Bethel Fire Department Calls for week ending October 5

• On 9-29-18 at 9:31 p.m. medics responded to the area of Kwethluk Street for the report of a person having an anxiety attack. Patient was assessed and transported to the hospital.
• On 9-30-18 at 5:08 a.m., medics responded to State Highway for a person no pulse. Patient had a no not resuscitate. Medics called the patient and turned the scene over to BPD.
• On 10-01-18 at 1:51 a.m. Firefighters responded to Lulu Heron for the report of an apartment filled with smoke. Firefighters observed that the apartment was filled with white smoke from a pan of oil on stove that had been left on, but no fire. Firefighters cleared apartment of smoke and returned to quarters.
• On 10-01-18 at 10:31 a.m. firefighters responded to Gladys Jung School for the report of a child onto of a shipping container and unable to get down. Firefighters observed that the child was on top of a 20x8ft shipping container refusing to get down, and firefighters requested additional assistance. Firefighters safely assist the child off the shipping container the child was assessed by medics and transported to the hospital.
• On 10-01-2018 at 12:17 p.m. Firefighters responded to 4056 AJ was (Larson Sub) for the report of a vehicle fire. Firefighters observed a fully involved truck. Firefighters deployed the 100ft bumper line, and were able to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown.
• On 10-01-2018 at 4:24 p.m. Medics responded to Subway for the report of a man unresponsive in the parking lot. The patient was assessed and transported to the hospital.
• On 10-2-18 at 11:44a.m. medics responded to the area of the AC Main Store for the report of an intoxicated person unable to stand. Patient was assessed and transported to the hospital.
• On 10-3-18 at 6:50 a.m. medics responded to the area of Ridgecrest Drive for the report of a person with insomnia. Patient was assessed and transported to the hospital.
• On 10-3-18 at 4:21 p.m. Firefighters responded to 5011 Neqlernaq loop for the report of a kitchen fire. Firefighters observed that the fire had already been put out by homeowner using a fire extinguisher. While on scene, fire fighters noticed smoke in the kitchen and living room, but no smoke alarms sounding Firefighters assisted the homeowners with ventilating the smoke from their house, firefighters also inspected the homeowners’ smoke detectors, and were able to verify that the homeowners’ smoke detectors did work but were out of compliance date. The cause of the fire was determined as faulty electrical wire inside of stove.
• On 10-3-2018 at 8:31 p.m. medics responded to Ridgecrest for the report of a person vomiting. The patient was assessed and transported to the hospital.
• On 10-5-18 at 4:44 a.m. medics responded to East Avenue for an assault. While staging medics got a more serious call and left scene. BPF transported that patient to hospital.
• On 10-5-18 at 4:44 a.m. medics responded to Mission Lake for a reported heart attack. Patient assessed and transported to the hospital.
