The Bethel Family Clinic has celebrated the grand opening of the new facility on August 15, 2018. The ribbon cutting was attended by the Board of Directors and staff. Participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony was Perry Barr, President of the Board of Directors; Kyle McGrath, Operations Director; and Jehona Kadriu, Finance Director.
The facility was achieved by the hard work of the Bethel Family Clinic management, Board of Directors, and generous contributions from the Rasmuson Foundation and the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. Notably, HRSA provided $1,000,000 for the development. Together, these funds were used to attain a long time goal of opening the new, modern Health Center.
The Bethel Family Clinic first incorporated in 1982 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) and has grown to include services to schools in the Yukon-Kuskokwim region. The Dental Clinic was started in 2016, and most recently, the Behavioral Health Clinic has expanded services. Future plans include the addition of specialty services and the repurposing of the original clinic.
Employees of the health and dental facilities currently number about 25. The mission of Bethel Family Clinic is to provide care and promote wellness for all people with the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. As Bethel and the Yukon-Kuskokwim region continue to grow, Bethel Family Clinic will be there to provide care and services.
