The Bethel City Council will be appointing one of five candidates who have expressed interest in filling the vacant city council seat left open following the resignation of former council member Carole Jung-Jordan who resigned on September 23rd, 2019.
The candidates are Joni Beckham, Jon Cochrane, Michelle DeWitt, Rick Garcia, and Courtney Trammell.
Council decided to open up the available seat to any qualified community member. Letters of interest were due by October 15th. The appointment will take place during the city council meeting on October 22nd, 2019. An opening statement will be given by each candidate followed by questions from seated council members. The term will be until October 2020.
After this, city council members will receive their city commission/committee appointments.
