AVCP CEO appointed to Federal Commission to Protect Indians

Association of Village Council Presidents (AVCP) Chief Executive Officer Vivian Korthuis has been appointed to serve as commissioner on the Not Invisible Act Joint Commission of Reducing Violent Crime Against Indians Commission. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland made the appointment.

The commission was established to combat violence and human trafficking on Indian land and crimes against Indians. The commission will serve as an advisory board to assist United States Attorney General Merrick Garland and law enforcement agency, all working to prevent and track violent crimes against Indigenous people.
