We are officially open for another year! The deadline to enter is Friday, February 28, 2025. The UAF Arctic Innovation Competition is accepting submissions for our final competition on Saturday, April 19, 2024.
Competitors of all ages are invited to share their new ideas in the form of products, services, apps, and inventions for a chance to win up to $15,000.
We strongly encourage youth competitors to enter the JR Division (13-17) and the Cub Division (12 and under).
We require placing ideas to take a break year in between competitions, so that means winners from 2023 are eligible to enter again!
The AIC Timeline
Submit your idea online with a detailed abstract and description of your product/service.
Submissions are reviewed by UAF and UAA students for an initial screening.
Submissions are reviewed by the Expert Panel for the Semifinals – A collective of engineers, past AIC competitors, entrepreneurs, business owners, and other professionals. (Main Division only)
The top ten ideas move onto AIC Semifinals. (Main Division only)
Top three ideas from all divisions are selected to present to judges in-person
Ideas are judged based on:
Utility – Who does your idea help and how does it help them?
Novelty – How is your idea original?
Feasibility – How would you make your idea a reality?
Value – How will this idea be profitable?
Presentation – How professional is your presentation? Do you grab the audience’s attention?
The final competition and award ceremony is on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
