Alaska House Republicans committed to advancing resource development with President Trump

In a statement issued today (November 8th, 2024), the Alaska House Republican Caucus reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing resource development and investment opportunities for Alaska.

In a recent video shared by Governor Dunleavy, President Trump underscored his dedication to supporting critical projects that will enhance Alaska’s energy independence and economic resilience.

The statement issued by the Republican caucus highlighted comments from former President and President-Elect Trump. “During my second term, we will fight for Alaska like never before will ensure the gas line project is completed, delivering affordable energy to Alaskans and to allies worldwide.”

The Caucus firmly opposes the importation of LNG into Alaska, emphasizing that the state’s energy needs can and should be met by its own resources. The Alaska LNG project, strongly supported by House Republicans and President Trump, represents a transformational 800-mile pipeline that would provide energy for local communities while boosting global exports.

In addition, House Republicans are committed to working with President Trump to expand Alaska’s mining potential and enhance defense investments in the state. The Caucus was encouraged by his remarks pledging to “maximize Alaska’s mining potential” and “ensure increased defense investments” as part of a broader effort to strengthen the U.S. military presence in the Pacific amid rising tensions with Russia and China.

Speaker Cathy Tilton (R – Mat-Su) stated, “While all ballots have not yet been counted, the House Republican Caucus is confident and excited to work with an incoming administration focused on advancing Alaska’s economy and resource independence.”
