The Akiak Community has called a meeting to talk about the future of their power situation. The meeting is scheduled for July 31, 2024 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Community Center. The meeting was called for by the Akiak Residents.
“It has been over a month with no power in the community,” writes Dr. Michael Williams, Tribal Judge and FEMA NAC Volunteer of Akiak. “We need to discuss the situation as winter is coming quickly and we need to be prepared to deal with it. The two meetings occurred on July 3rd and July 16th in which actions and reports occurred on our light plants.”
The following tentative agenda is a draft.
