Lorin and Bonnie Bradbury celebrated their Golden Anniversary—50 years of marriage! Highschool sweethearts, Lorin and Bonnie tied the knot on August 28, 1971, at 19 and 18 years of age, respectively. The Bradbury’s five adult children—David, Sarah, Rebecca, Tabitha, and Phillip—all made the long trip to celebrate their parents’ big day at the Bethel United Pentecostal Church. Many of the Bradbury’s grandchildren were able to attend also, making Grandma and Grandpa’s day that much more special!
The Bradbury’s were joined in their celebration by many dear friends and church family members. The Bradbury’s moved to Bethel in 1993 and have lovingly pastored a growing congregation for the past 28 years. Overall, the Bradbury’s have pastored over 40 years in Alaska.
Over the years, the Bradbury’s have transformed the lives of people they have served and rubbed shoulders with. They have taught and lived the Word of God in the pulpit, in the Sunday School room, in the community, and in their home, providing a shining example for others to follow. The level of sacrifice and commitment they have demonstrated to God, their family, and their congregation is more than words can adequately describe. They have celebrated the good times with us. They have suffered along-side us in our struggles and times of grief. They have never stopped believing in us. They have declared the grace, power, and love our Jesus Christ to do the impossible in our lives.
As individuals gave special thanks at the potluck, many with tears in their eyes, it was evident that the Bradbury’s had gone above and beyond for the cause of souls. The dozens, and hundreds, of lives they have impacted for good would tell more stories than this newspaper can hold. So deep is their love for people.
We love and appreciate you so much Pastor and Sister Bradbury. May this be your best year yet! And may you have many, many more anniversaries to come!
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. (Daniel 10:3)
