2022 #BethelGives Campaign

by Bethel Community Services Foundation

Bethel Community Services Foundation announces the beginning of the 2022 #BethelGives Campaign, sponsored by Bethel Community Services Foundation and nine local nonprofit organizations.

This year we have more amazing thank you gifts for #BethelGives contributions at the $50 level, at the $100 level and at the $150 level.

$150 contribution: a #BethelGives zip hoodie

$100 contribution:  #BethelGives chocolate (adding to the excitement of chocolate – there is a golden ticket in one box of chocolate – the lucky person who receives it will win a gift pack of local crafted items and art from the SouthWest Alaska Arts Group gift shop!)

$50 contribution: two past #BethelGives swag items (could be a Kuskokwim canned silver salmon, socks, a dry bag/floating key chain, etc.)

Any contribution: #BethelGives Sticker

The aim of #BethelGives is to offer Bethel and the YK Delta community increased opportunities to support local organizations as we all prepare for winter and the holiday season – a time of great generosity and great need.

The nine groups that will be participating in #BethelGives this year are: Bethel Winter House Shelter, SouthWest Alaska Arts Group, Tundra Women’s Coalition, Bethel Friends of Canines, YK Delta Lifesavers, Future Delta Nurses, KYUK, Kuskokwim Consortium Library and Yuut Elitnaurviat.

Thank you gifts will be offered for donations made at Saturday Market on November 26, online at bcsfoundation.org or bethelgives.org and in person at the BCSF Office. We will also offer gifts to people who donate via Facebook if they share their contact email when prompted by Facebook (we have to know how to find you!).

In 2022, there are several ways to support the #BethelGives campaign:

Online: Contributions to the #BethelGives campaign will be accepted through www.bethelgives.org or www.bcsfoundation.org.

Saturday Markets: #BethelGives volunteers will be available at the November 26 Saturday Market in Bethel to collect contributions and distribute thank you gifts.

Local Businesses: Local small businesses around Bethel will also be participating in the 2022 #BethelGives campaign. Keep your eye out for information posted at bethelgives.org and at the Bethel Community Services Foundation Facebook page about ways that you can support local small businesses that are sponsoring the #BethelGives campaign.

1. Alaska Commercial Company is offering a “Round Up at the Register” program – ask to round up your purchases to the nearest dollar when you pay at the cash register – those gifts in November are dedicated to #BethelGives!

2. Malone Insurance Company will be matching donations! Stop by their office OR mention that you are a Malone Insurance Company customer when you give online or at Saturday Market, and they will offer a match to the campaign!

3. Vitus will be making a donation to the campaign for every gallon of gas purchased on November 29th (#GivingTuesday).

4. Ed’s Automotive is also a campaign sponsor – please schedule your vehicle for service at 543-4445!

5. GCI and Donlin Gold have both donated to #BethelGives and are campaign sponsors. Thank you for your gifts!

6. Ed’s Automotive is a campaign sponsor – please schedule your vehicle for service at 543-4445

7. And so is The Three Tortillas restaurant – open from Noon to 8 pm at 402 Ridgecrest Drive, Door C (by Watson’s Corner). Takeout available: you can order at 907-545-1917.

Facebook: Facebook’s match this year is focused on monthly recurring gifts. This year, they are matching up to $100 per person for recurring donations set up on Facebook through December 31. Your contribution will be matched after the second monthly gift is processed. To make a recurring donation, click the Fundraisers button on your Facebook profile and search for a fundraiser in your nonprofit’s name. If there are no active fundraisers, the screen will show you that and give you the option to create a fundraiser and invite your friends to also give, or just donate directly. At that time, you can pick the “donate monthly” option.  Any Gifts to Bethel Community Services Foundation that are set up during this time period will be designated for the #BethelGives campaign, unless we are informed of a different intention from the donor.

Phone, Mail and In-Person Contributions: Contributions to the #BethelGives Campaign will be accepted over the phone at 907-545-1855, in-person at the BCSF office, located at 1795 Chief Eddie Hoffman Highway, or by mail at PO Box 2189 Bethel, AK 99559.

#BethelGives is an extension of a national and international campaign – #GivingTuesday- which encourages people all over the world to following the shopping mayhem of Black Friday and Cyber Monday with generosity that changes lives in their own local communities. On #GivingTuesday, people around the USA and world will share their time, talents and treasure with their neighbors in need, often through local organizations.
