Alexie dominated the boys’ 5-kilometer race. The Kuskokwim Learning Academy senior punched his ticket to the upcoming Class 1A-2A-3A state meet by pounding out a 31-second victory over the 3.1-mile trail. A native of Toksook Bay, he completed the course in a time of 18 minutes and 5 seconds.

Kwigillingok’s Arnold Phillip was Alexie’s nearest competitor. He finished second at 18:35.

Kwigillingok standout William Flynn was fifth, checking in with a mark of 18:57.

In the girls’ division, Lincoln was equally as dominant. The Toksook Bay Tununak star raced to first with a time of 23 minutes.

Tununak teammate Amanda Kanrilak gave the Coasters a sweep of the top two spots in the meet. She took second at 23:26.
